Sound Intestines- Sound Social Mesurements
Inspired by the dadaists' early sound poems,as well as Jean-jacques Lebel's Polyphonix,Linchiwei developped the idea of audience-body as instrument to the extremity,there is no more music assesories needed except the sound create by the audience themselfs!
In this way Linchiwei developped a series of sound experiments "Body digital music","Body Interactive music","Body analogical music"....
In "Sound Intestines- Sound Social Mesurements" Lin-chi-wei apply his experience of building electronic music patchs into the syncronizing of live chanting sounds, a very special form of "Phonetic Synthesis" is thus built , the reactive modes is considered to be the only content of this performance, as a form of social mesurement, together with it's "visible" sound .
1.Performance:
Audiences' reactions to the "sound intestines" is the whole of the performance,basically artist do nothing but passing the "Sound Intestines" to the audience and waiting for the reacts.No previous explaination is given to the audiences.
2.Exposition:
There are 2 major forms for the representation of "Sound Intestines" :
A Single screen version:(Documentary film of sound intestines performance)
B.6 Screen version:(Audiences are invited to remix the 6 performance recordings on a mixer infront of the screens.)
一條長長的導帶將群眾分割為螺旋形,在遊戲規則不明的狀況下,眾人由內而外,自左而右地傳送著帶子;開始有人即興地或唱或誦出其上不具意義之文字,人聲遂轟轟然成一音團;此音團由弱而強,緩慢、有機、不間斷地持續發展著…….
「音腸」靈感源於聲音詩,挪用了磁帶錄音之機械原理,以及類比延遲和“微粒合成“理論。國語四聲韻亦為和聲之一部(例如四人同時分別念誦「衣」、「宜」、「以」、「意」四音時,所形成的自然和聲)。
